John Brady

John Patterson Brady, age 88, 0f Rutledge, Tennessee, passed away following a long illness, at Beverly Park Place Health and Rehabilitation, in Knoxville, on August 8, 2016. John was born April 2, 1928, in Rutledge, to John Jenkins Brady and Bertie Anne Patterson Brady. He was baptized at an early age and was a lifelong member of Rutledge Baptist Church. He attended Rutledge High school, and was a veteran of The United States Air Force. He was retired from JFG Coffee Company in Knoxville. In his retirement, he volunteered as a driver for Grainger County Senior Citizens.

John was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Alice Brady Dixon; and his wife, Marie Needham Lambdin Brady, who died in 2003. Survivors include his daughter, Linda Brady Popham, of Knoxville; granddaughters, Kelly (Mark) Midland, of Louisville, KY and Ashley Popham, of Portland, Oregon; great-granddaughters, Maggie and Claire Midland; step-daughter, Jane Morgan and husband, Jerry Morgan, of Strawberry Plains; step-grandson, Justin Morgan, of Knoxville and Travis Lambdin , of Morristown; nieces and nephews, Jacqueline Belle Dixon and husband, Mitchell H. Scott, of Nashville, Richard Steve Dixon, of Rutledge, Jack Michael Dixon, of Rutledge, Jessica Anne Dixon, of Rutledge, Tressie Faye Dixon, of Knoxville, and Edde Wayne Dixon and wife, Ali Hammer Dixon, of Rutledge. The family would like to express a special thanks to the third floor staff of Beverly Park Place Health and Rehabilitation who lovingly cared for him.

A celebration of life service was held Saturday, August 13, 2016, in the chapel of Smith-Reagan Funeral Home in Rutledge, with Rev. Kerry Bond officiating.
